Thank you for choosing Aquilo (the "App")—an accessibility‑focused tool that lets you transform the physical books you own into private, on‑device audiobooks and intelligent conversations. Protecting your privacy is core to our mission. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

We do not collect biometric identifiers, precise GPS location, contacts, or advertising identifiers.

3. How we use your information

  • Provide core features — convert your images to text & audio, store chapter progress, and power chat/voice interactions.
  • Process payments & manage subscriptions via Apple In‑App Purchase and RevenueCat.
  • Improve and secure the App — monitor crashes, prevent fraud, and optimize models.
  • Communicate with you — send account messages, support replies, and critical service notices.
  • Legal & compliance — satisfy bookkeeping, tax, and intellectual‑property obligations (e.g., confirming that content belongs to you under fair‑use/accessibility principles).

We never sell your personal data.

All transmissions are encrypted using TLS 1.2+; stored data is encrypted at rest with AES‑256.

6. Your choices & rights

  • Access / Download – export your books, audio, and chat history in Settings.
  • Delete – remove any book, chapter, or your entire account at any time; associated content is purged within 30 days (billing records excepted).
  • Opt‑out of analytics & marketing in Settings or by emailing us.

California (CCPA), EU/UK (GDPR), and similar regions: you have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict, or port your data and to object to processing.

To exercise rights, email privacy@aquiloapp.com. We may verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

7. Children's privacy

Aquilo is not directed to children under 13 (or equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us for deletion.

8. Third‑party links & external content

The App may link to external websites or content. We are not responsible for those sites' privacy practices.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will notify you through the App or by email at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use after that date constitutes acceptance.
